Perth, AU – Wednesday, Feb 26th, 2014

I spend the morning posting for about 2-1/2 hrs then go to the Western Australian Museum. It is only one block away from my hostel up a slight hill. The museum is accessible but a little chopped up. There are two elevators and a lift that go to several different exhibits. I am not able to operate the elevator that goes to the aboriginal exhibit and the lift to the ocean exhibit without help from the museum staff.

After the museum I have dinner at an English Pub The Elephant and Wheelbarrow on the corner of Francis St and Lake St. I am able to wheel up the ramp but it is too steep and will be trouble for some wheelchair users. They do have an accessible bathroom and free wifi.  I plan on coming back Thursday to get some posting done. I start back to the hostel and hear some good jazz coming from Pica Bar, across from the museum. There are 3 steps to get in through the front door but there is a ramp to the back patio. There is an entrance on the patio through the back for staff only so I head in and have a few beers and listen for a few hours. It was well worth the stop.  Pica Bar does not have an accessible bathroom.
