Travel Update

I’ve not posted anything for a very long time, this happens when you go back to work.  I went back to work in July 2015.  The guy hired to replace me when I quit in December 2013 was fired in July 2015.  I had an agreement to stay 3 months until work found a replacement.  In October, a replacement was not found so I agreed to stay until the end of the year.  A replacement was hired in February  2016.  Over the next several months I stayed on to do miscellaneous jobs.  The customer service lady quit around July 2016 so I filled that position until a replacement was found.  Shortly after that the accounting women quit so I filled that position for a few months.  I went back to doing miscellaneous jobs.  The new accounting women only lasted about 2 months before quitting.  I am now back doing payroll along with many other jobs.  During this time, I did a few small trips but nothing worth posting.  This brings me to today.  I have trips to Houston, TX, Grand Cayman and Cozumel planned for this year.  In 2017, I have 2 trips I’m very excited about, Cuba and Africa.  Cuba will be scuba diving and cultural exploration.  Africa will be volunteer work with orphans in Swaziland and animal conservation in Kruger National Park for 2 months minimum.  Africa is still being organized but in conversations with the volunteer groups they are very confident I will be able help.  During my time in Africa, I hope go back to Botswana for a safari.  I’ve agreed to work until July/August of 2018 until I head to Africa.  I hope everyone continues follow me on my adventures.

  1. Hi, I tried to comment but it would not accept my ip address. Anyway, Bill and I met you at Bonaire and I am so glad to hear from you. Your adventures sound wonderful and your are busy with so many different jobs. Bill and I went to Cuba in Feb. with SODA…you will love it. We were so very impressed with the beauty of the country, the people and the culture. The diving was gentle with beautiful swim throughs. Wishing you all the best and hope to hear more…Kathy Stevenson

  3. Hi Nick

I live in South Africa (Pretoria), I found your blog while I was googling to check if I can go with my 84 years old grandmother to Robben Island. She is using a wheel chair and I was a little concerned about how we were going to manoeuvre around. I found your comment on Trip Advisor very helpful. there is little information about whether people on wheelchairs are catered for or not and without your comment I might still have been wondering. So thank you.
