I slept in after a very long day at Uluru Friday. I’m going to take it easy today with a long day planned at The West MacDonnell Ranges Sunday. I buy another SD card for my camera because I have 2,500+ photos on the current card and don’t know when it will be full. The in ear headphones I used on the Uluru Tour hurt my ears so I find ear buds I was looking for in the first place. Third pair of ear phones, I hope these last me the rest of my trip. I take photo’s around Alice Springs and Anzac Hill. Anzac Hill was unveiled April 25, 1934 as a memorial to those members of the armed forces who died in World War I. The hill is now a memorial to all who have served during all wars Australia has participated. The hill is too steep to wheel up.
I have lunch at Red Ochre Grill on Todd Mall. It is accessible with a ramp up to the entrance. I try kangaroo for the first time. It is only ok and a little dry. I don’t see me trying it again. I go to the Olive Pink Botanic Gardens. It is nothing like any of the other gardens I’ve been, no beautifully colored flowers. This is a desert garden. It has difficult pathways to wheel through. Loosely packed gravel and hiking areas I can’t get to.
I have dinner at the Ibis Hotel bar and head to bed early.
