Doi Suthep temple, founded in 1383. Located on Doi Suthep mountain overlooking Chiang Mai. Legend has it a piece of bone from the historical Buddha was mounted on a sacred white elephant. The elephant wandered into the jungle until it died, this is where the monastery was later founded.
